Cape Town & Namibia

It must have taken us 10 years to get up the nerve to visit Ulf in his new home country of Namibia.
Together with Renate and Dietmar, we planned the trip to the southern part of the African continent. Finally the time had come!

Together we started our trip “Cape Town & Namibia” with a short stay in Cape Town. Still impressed by the marvellous scenery around Table Mountain, we continued our journey in Namibia. In Beckystreet, Windhoek, the home of Angelika and Ulf, we enjoyed their hospitality before continuing our so-called Milky Way Tour through Namibia in a hire car. We visited impressive places such as Kalahari, Sossusvlei, Rostock Ritz, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, Damaraland, Twyfelfontaine, Ethosha, Frans Indongo and Windhoek.

Travel booking

The organisation of the trip was carried out by DIAMOND TOURS Namibia cc. The choice of tour – the so-called Mikly Way – and the selection of lodges was very successful.
Our special thanks go to the tour manager Angelika, called Geli, who organised the fantastic trip for us and the special manager Ulf who even provided us with a satellite phone.

Everything went really well!

Summary

It was a wonderful and eventful holiday.
We learnt to appreciate the hospitality in Cape Town and Namibia.

After a flight of approx. 15,700 kilometres, approx. 440 kilometres by train in Germany, and approx. 3,200 kilometres of driving in a Honda rental car on roads with little asphalt and many sand and gravel tracks, 6 refuelling stops, a tyre change at 44°C and approx. 420 km of transport and excursions, we arrived back home in GoG!

Totsiens!!! – Goodbye!!! – See you again!!!
